Urine Collection - the collection of the Tigers urine. Many people were horrified about this and didnt believe they did it. Here it is. The urine was collected and then placed into spray bottles where it would be then sprayed into any Tigers face if they got restless. Take note: Many of the Temple Tigers suffered from eye infections.

Goodbye Jane

Behind the Cloak of Buddha - Cee4life

Goodbye Jane - I went back into the Tiger Temple to check on the animals about 2 weeks ago.
Inside the Temple, there are not just Tigers, there are a few other species in there too. I went in search of them and couldnt find them.
I spoke to one of the Temple employees to ask the whereabouts of Jane the Binturong (which is a nocturnal tree dwelling small bear/cat like creature, on the IUCN Redlist and declining) who was living in a cage with minimal enrichment or any of her needs met, and who I filmed over time.
I was informed Jane was dead. I asked why, no one knew. I asked when, no one knew or would tell me........
RIP Jane xo ~ Sybelle

Hope - Hope is the "feeling that what is wanted can be had or that events will turn out for the best"

Yesterday, in the Tiger Temple, something happened, something that brings hope. I was able to video that and will release soon as I get to a better connection.

On another note, There is an Australian man who works inside the Tiger Temple. I asked him a simple question about some tigers and he proceeded to mock me, attempted to intimidate me, and many other things defamatory. He did this in front of all the people in the tiger canyon, one being a government official. He raised his voice at me and I was stern back at him. People/tourists were videoing it all. Then along came a British man who had just witnessed a tiger being punched repeatedly in the canyon. The British man was obviously upsetat seeing this abuse and joined my discussion and asked the Australian idiot, why was the tiger being punched. What I can tell you is that it was a really heated outburst, and many many people filmed it, and I pray to God that someone posts it up on Youtube. Richie, you are a shameful Australian. You are a waste of space, and mate, if I get my way, you will be the first to be sacked and gone from the temple. You stupid idiotic slanderous insulting prick.

  Tiger Temple, 29th April 2013.
Tiger Temple is part of Cee4lifes Guardian Project - No life for a Tiger.....but things may be changing. As usual I went into the Tiger Temple to check on these beautiful creatures used for tourism. I can honestly say I have had a gutful of seeing the repeated exploitation ( and more) of them. So today, I got that fed up with it all, I decided to go and directly talk to the head Vet Dr Somchai. That is a video which I will upload when I can get to a better internet link. But here are some photos of today, some scenes that you will all have grown to know so very clearly. I spoke to many tourists inside, one being a government official from another country (who will remain unnamed) That officials extact words when I asked what they thought about it all - "Terribly disturbing" Most times when i get in there, there are moments where i am crying, appalled, and feel helpless. But there are a few things changing, just extremely slowly. Again judge for yourself. One more thing I must tell you, is that evertime I am in there, I just sit and watch, and sooner or later all the tigers begin to stare at me. I dont know why, but i pray that they know I am trying my hardest to help them xoxo Sybelle

Dear Phayru.................

Dear Phayru.....The image you see here.

This Beautiful beautiful Tiger that was made to suffer in an unimaginable way..until he passed away.
For me personally when I think of The Tiger Temple , the first image that comes to mind is this one of Phayru. This image here in my opinion depicts everything that this Temple stands for. Every fibre, every single line in this Tiger's expression, right down to the terrible condition of his teeth, explains the horror, the cruelty, the pain and the suffering he had to endure............
The first time I heard about Tiger Temple was when I met Sybelle over two and a half years ago. I remember the first stories she shared with me and I remember seeing this picture of Phayru for the first time , when She first opened this page here and I sat with her and helped her download the first album...
I have started to read Sybelle's book {Behind the Cloak of Buddha} volume 1, for the Second time....
It is astonishing how still while reading it again , I am seeing things that I may have missed the first time around. Different instances, with facts and horror, deep deep sorrow but yet so much love, so much might and will these Tigers of this Temple have/had. Things you will not know or feel unless you read this book.......I am now reading the part where Sybelle describes in her book a Beating that Phayru had to endure, and for those of you who have not read it or her book, I want to share it with you today....

*"Phayru was a very gracious Tiger. He would chuff and lovingly greet most people in spite of his obvious suffering. I watched this tiger try so hard to be exceptionally well behaved for the TSW, and just as I smiled with adoration at his behavior, the remorseless pain of shock and horror gripped my heart again as another violent scene began to play out before my eyes.
Phayru chuffed to the TSW and was doing everything that he was supposed to do when people are near. He showed no sign or display of aggression or negative behavior towards the TSW, just chuffs and obedience. Despite this good behavior, the TSW began yelling and raising his stick, Phayru backed off showing fear and confusion. This visual change of the expression on Phayru's face was mortifying. The TSW hit Phayru's genitals hard and yelled at him to move while pointing to a much smaller cell not much bigger then Phayru himself. As Phayru cowered and turned to the small cage I saw his genital and anus area was abnormal and swollen with excretions of blood and pus oozing from everywhere. He was moaning and trying to move quickly to the small cage while the TSW continued to hit him on his genitals. He continued to moan and flinched so much with every hit and was looking up at the TSW with such confusion and with what I can only describe as desperate pleading expression as if to say "Why"?......

Those of you who have not read this book, or know someone who has not read it yet - that has a love for Tigers...Tigers like the Tigers of Thailand's Tiger Temple , please share the link with them, tell them about this book. I swear to you once you or they have read it, you will be a changed person....
Phayru You have A voice even tho you are Gone Beautiful Tiger. Sybelle is making sure you will never be Forgotten or silenced...You and every other Tiger that has come and gone, and for those whose fate has not yet, but will bring them to the Tiger Temple.....
Rest in Peace ♥
Dawn.

Cee4life - "I Want to Warn The People of India"

Behind the Cloak of Buddha - Cee4life

INDIA - I want to warn the people of India, about something that is disrespecting the memory of Billy Argan Singh. For those of you who dont know the work I do, I was an undercover investigator who gathered the evidence of abuse and wildlife trading of tigers inside the Tiger Temple in 2007 and have continued investigating this place for 6 years. I am also the director of NGO Cee4life (Australia). While inside the Temple in October 2012, I found out that the temple is now considering conducting one of the most unethical projects being touted under the banner of tiger conservation. They plan to release captive inbred, cross bred tigers into the wild. This will fail. However, they used Billy Singh’s name, and his work with Tara. The Tigers of the infamous Tiger Temple in Thailand are horrendously inbred and cross bred. The idea they have is to use current Tigers, (whom they breed rampantly for tourism) and instead of taking the cubs away from the mother at 7 days old or less as they do now, they are going to let the mothers have the cubs, with no human contact and then release them into the wild of Thailand. They say that this will be successful. I told them that no Tiger has survived a long time in the wild, they then quoted Billy Singh and Tara. That was one of the biggest pathetic insults that could be thrown to Billy Singh. Not only is the Tiger Temple responsible for some of the worst abuse and deaths of Tigers in present days, but also, to use India, and the revered conservationist Billy Singh to promote their highly unethical, and completely non-conservation project using his name is a disgrace.
India, the Tigers inside the Tiger Temple are Bengals, not Indochinese. They are Bengals, inbred and cross bred, and bought via the wildife trade, and used and exploited in a hell that no Tiger should be in.
I asked them what will happen when the Tigers they release cannot hunt, they told me that those Tigers will then be kept in captivity.
I can tell you now, that this project will fail. (If you want me to go into the details of why it will fail please ask me) And in all likelihood, they are lying about release into the wild, and in reality they purely want more Tigers, for a 2nd or 3rd Tiger Temple.
Recently 20 members of the Tiger Temple came to India.
I am highly concerned that they are trying to get their hooks into India, the very country which the Tigers of the Temple were stolen from.
Please be aware and alert to anything regarding the Tiger Temple in India.
It is a disgrace that the memory of Billy Singhs work has now been linked with this evil abusive wildlife trading Temple.
Please be on guard.
I will update you on any future information. Please share this far and wide with all your Indian colleagues.

Tiger Stripe ID - Evidence 1 of Wildlife Traded Tigers - Mek

Behind the Cloak of Buddha - Cee4life
 https://www.facebook.com/BehindtheCloakBuddha?ref=stream

There is a great deal of evidence proving the wildlife trade and/or disappearing Tigers from the Tiger Temple , that the public has not seen. Science and patience is the only way that this can be done. Here is some of the file of the original Temple Tiger, procured through the wildlife trade. His name was Mek, a beautiful Bengal. I never got to meet the original Mek, but that did not stop me being able to identify he was, without doubt, present inside the Tiger Temple, and suddenly disappeared. Firstly, I had to prove that he was there, and that he was known by the staff and importantly, the Abbot. Each Tiger on the face of this earth has a unique stripe ID pattern. It takes time to thoroughly identify a Tiger using the stripe ID process, however it is as solid as DNA proof. The next series of photographs shows you how I identifed the original Mek. This set of photographs is only his facial ID markers. His full body stripe ID is a huge file, but I thought I would let you see this part of the process.. There is no way that the Temple can deny that Mek was known, and existed. Although he was gone long before I got to the Temple in 2007, I was still able to prove this dear boy lived and was certainly inside the temple. I have 175 + files, there are 105 tigers currently inside the temple....do the maths. For everything that is hidden in darkness, it will one day come to light. ~ Sybelle

To tolerate the intolerable - Weya, Tiger Temple Tiger

Behind the Cloak of Buddha - Cee4life

To tolerate the intolerable - Weya, Tiger Temple Tiger, discarded and abused, no use to the public, for breeding or anything else. Weya was never treated for a cut on his arm. It swelled up into a huge infection and haematoma. He is repeatedly sliced open to drain it, under extremely unhygienic conditions. He has been carved open about 20 times now.... so badly, his stripes dont match up anymore. Locked away, ill, and in peril of "disappearing". All because tourists want to "pat a Tiger" and get a photograph. See the truth, end the abuse. Please share far and wide. ~ Sybelle

EVIDENCE of The Illegal Wildlife Trade

Behind the Cloak of Buddha - Cee4life

I am pursuing a meeting with the Thai Gov soon to present ALOT of evidence to them. Evidence that they never got.... I found out that all the evidence that has been handed into the Thai Gov over the years has somehow disappeared. Luckily I throw away NOTHING.... During the filmning of the SBS Dateline program (Link to SBS documentary - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tGD_p8HX2Vo), I gave the Wildlife Trade, Blackmarket document which is signed by the Abbot and the Laos tiger trader, to the investigative journalist, David O'Shea. David was able to get that document to the head of the Wildlife Department who admitted, on television, that it is Illegal and breaching the Thai Law and the CITES law. However, this document had NEVER been seen before.. Or at least never been seen by anyone in the Thai Gov that did anything about it. This document is only a tiny bit of the factual evidence to prove the wildlife trade occurring inside the Temple. Over the last year there have been over 30 tiger cubs born inside this place. Currently there is 105 tigers. Something is wrong. The numbers DO NOT add up. Unless the Tiger Temple can come up with these Tigers and present them, ALIVE, then there is no other explaination other than the Tigers ARE continuing to disappear.
To Tiger Temple – Don’t ever think that you have got away with the deaths of these animals. Don’t ever think that just because you have built some enclosures that you think this wipes all the evil deeds you have done. I saw you send Tigers to their death and you have never answered for that. Now I know why….. Produce evidence of the numerous CURRENT missing Tigers now. The ongoing arrogance you are continuing to display WILL NOT be kept in silence…… Sybelle
Will keep you up to date on this. I am appalled to find out that the Department of National Parks NEVER got this information and evidence…. This explains a lot…. Im am not Happy. For those that have never seen the Wildlife trade document, here it is. This is the death warrant of the original Tigers, Payak and Dao Rung. We could not save Payak, but did save Dao... Payak, along with other numerous tigers were lost to the wildlife trade, they are dead in bottles of Traditional Chinese Medicines Animal Body Part Use(TCM ABP).. ~ Sybelle

Saireung

Behind the Cloak of Buddha - Cee4life

Saireung - When I went back into the temple, I looked intensely for this lovely girl. In her life she has suffered immense pain. In 2007, I begged the Abbot and the Conservation organisation to let me get medical aid to Saireung to save her eyes. They said I could help her if I paid for it. I fell $60AU short of the money and I begged the conservation org that I was undercover for, to loan me the money..... No was the shattering answer I got.. All I could do was sit with her.... Saireung had not touched grass or felt raw sunshine for nearly 10 years..... Here is what she looked like over the years....Sybelle.

Saireung 2012

Saireung - My eyes watered with tears.... I called her name, she looked the best she could in my direction..... In amongst the horror of all the years, all the fighting, all the devastation, there she was..... :) I was so happy to see her
out on grass, in sunshine, she looked content finally. But..... her litter of cubs had been once again taken from her at 7 days old, and there she sat listening to them calling, as the tourists fed them....... Always the sorrow xoxoxo

Sangtewan 2012

Sangtewan 2012 – On my recent visit back to the temple, I wanted to see what all these changes were that I had been told about. Various temple staff had written to me and urged me to come and see the advances. Ive always told the temple that if they do something good, I will certainly speak up about it. After all, the only thing that myself and the numerous other ex- volunteers wanted was for these tigers to have the best life possible.
Sangtewan is a tiger that I was told was dead, then alive, and then unknown. I had to find out myself what the truth was.
As I walked along the top of Tiger Island, a temple staff worker talked to me about everything. She was nice, very niave. I didn’t want to question her too much or over whelm her with too much information as I could tell she was brand new and still in awe of the “wonderful temple”… In the video she does say that initially the monks were not prepared with how to raise tigers…. Well, that’s true. However, that sentence should have been “the Monks blantantly bought tigers through the wildlife trade, lied to the public and said they were rescued orphans, and then when they got too big, they sent them back to tiger farms to become traditional chinese medicine” That’s what the sentence meant to me…..
So there I was, listening to the naivety of this young girl, and she suddenly said, “that’s Sangtewan”. I looked down at a cage. Inside that cage was a stalking tiger. Up and down the tiger prowled in classic stereotypic behaviour…..
I tried hard to identify Sangtewan, I couldn’t. But the young worker swore to me that it was Sangtewan “with the missing piece”… Yes, Sangtewan with the missing piece that was deliberately cut out of her nose so she would be easier to handle…. (The nose is very sensitive. Sang was a feisty girl when she was younger. They cut that chunk of skin out of her septum when she was young to control her, just a tap on it, and she would reel in pain….. Yes, the missing piece, there’s lots of missing pieces of all the stories you hear the new volunteers tell.…..
So the tiger in the cage, Sangtewan maybe, stalking aimlessly. Back and forth she went. But the door to her cell was open, she could have walked straight out into the enclosure, but didn’t. I said to the staff worker, “You need to give her some enrichment, something to entice her out of the cage”. The worker said “Yes we give all the tigers enrichment” I said “What do you give them”, She said “We walk by in the morning and talk to them”………. Gee that’s fantastic, that would solve all the problems… Ive got no idea why the tigers are displaying stereotypic behaviour when for a few minutes a day someone talks to them in the morning……yeah right….. How about, 10 years of being cell bound, a breeding machine, and you (TT) think she will just merrily convert to normal behaviour… No, in Sangs mind, her cell is her home, her safety net, her stereotypic conditioned abuse has caused this….. TT take a bit of time and actually help this girl… Of course I can help you do that
So here is the best photo I could get of Sangtewan, a tiger in a cage… Ive got some film of this, will post it up soon.
Hence, I still haven’t confirmed Sangtewan is alive….. I just got told she was… Not good enough.
I’ll be back TT. ~ Sybelle

WHERE IS HANNOI??

Photo: Hannoi - Where is Hannoi. On 18th August 2007, 2 week old Hannoi arrived with his brother, in the back of a truck at approx 11pm at night. They had been swapped for Sangtewans 2 female 4 month old cubs. Hannoi was intially raised by a lovely Thai Temple staff worker. But others got to Hannoi. The taught him to be feisty to be aggressive (I have put film up there before of him, will attach link) . As Hannoi grew so did his tiger spirit. He was beautiful. But, because of his spirit, some temple staff decided that his spirit needed to be broken. Weekly, no less than 5 temple staff (yes i know their names, yes they are still in the temple right now) would go into Hannoi's cage and beat him and try to break him. He couldnt be broken. As you know I recently went back to the temple, I asked for Hannoi.... No one knew a Tiger of that name... WHERE IS HANNOI??? You Temple Staff watching this page, WHERE IS HANNOI?? Time date photo please, or if he is dead please inform cause of death, or if he is renamed. Hannoi is only 5 years old, he was strong, where is he...... Hannoi can be seen on the film The Screaming Tigers found at http://youtu.be/kIRMzhq_8Rc

I went back to the Tiger Temple with Dateline journalist David O'Shea to check on the Tigers welfare, to see any changes, and to provide education for the public to travel ethically. Please share this with everyone you know. Until people are educated about this place and others like it, animals will continue to be abused, animals will suffer, and animals will disappear, all because people think its cool to "pat" these wild creatures. "Never Give Up" - Cee4life

Her Motto is "Never Give Up", and for anyone who knows Sybelle Foxcroft (cee4life), it is all too Apparent how she Lives by those Words....

For Over 5 Years now, she has dedicated herself to Bringing Awareness to the Public of one of the W
orld's Most Renown Tourists Attractions - Thailand's Tiger Temple.
Under covering the Illegal Tiger Trade Operation that is hidden to the public Eye, this Woman has done everything in her power to be a Voice for the over 100 Tigers that are Victims and held Prisoner in this Temple. One of them being the Beautiful "Harnfa" that she helped raise - pictured here with Sybelle....

To Quote Sybelle -
Miracle - :) My boy, My Harnfa touches earth for the first time in 5 years :))))))) If we didnt have faith, we would give up trying to save any creature. Even the toughest and seemingly impossible battles can be won. A long time ago, I began to fight for the Temple Tigers, I swore in my heart that I would Never Give Up. My boy I raised was trapped, he was abused, he was locked in a cage in Thailand and I couldnt get him out. Many told me over the years it is "Impossible Sybelle"... These things are only impossble if you say they are. I would never stop trying to save my boy, trying to get him out of his cement 15 foot prison. For 5 long years, my heart has been torn apart trying to bring some ethical care to him and the other temple tigers. If you ever loose faith and think it is impossible, dont, it only seems that way. xoxo Here is my Harnfa 2012, out of his jail cell, in his beloved plants and tree's xoxo Never Give Up xoxoxo

On her Recent Trip back to Thailand, this time Sybelle accompanies Dateline's SBS Journalist David O' Shea who poses as a Tourist to see the Side of the Sanctuary presented to the public.

The Drugging of the Temple Tigers

The Drugging of the Temple Tigers – For those of you who haven’t read the book “Behind the Cloak of Buddha” I would like to clear up the “drugging of the tigers”. This so-called drugging was mentioned by one girl who never provided any proof back in 2006. There was no proof then and there is no proof now. However this girl said the Tigers were drugged to the conservation organisation who conducted the investigation and so the “story” began. I became the undercover investigator in 2007 in the Temple and I can guarantee you that I watched from 5am -11pm and not once did I catch them giving any classic drugs (injections, pills) to the Tigers. However, I did repeatedly observe Tigers displaying classic signs and symptoms of sedation eg: unsteady, eye dialated, tongue hanging out, increased thirst, etc however still no evidence of drugging. There are herbal concoctions that cause sedative effects which could easily have been put in their food, however again I never caught them doing that either. One afternoon I followed Hernfa back to his cage, there was something wrong with him. He was staggering, incredibly off balance, and he could barely make it to his cage. He fell onto the floor. I called his name and he struggled to lift his head, his eyes could barely focus on me. This is one of the photos of him in this state. (there are a series of them). Was he just extremely exhausted? He would be from 500 people. But I set about trying to find the reason for the extreme lethargy that all the Tigers displayed and I was able to determine this. These Tigers are locked in cells 20hrs per day, no sunshine, no exercise, no enrichment. They are then pulled out for the tourists for 4 hours where they are yanked up and down for photos. Additionally, not one of these Tigers has a correct diet. All have NEVER had red meat or blood or bones as a carnivore should, they are lacking in multiply vitamins and minerals etc, they are in a weakened state already. Then, many had been beaten from birth and the continued abuse of punches in the head and urine sprayed in the face has been caught on camera by many tourists. None of the Tigers have any real muscle tone at all and many have lost a good amount of their eyesight because of the lack of taurine in their diet. (Taurine is found in a normal carnivore meat diet and causes eye problems when there is a lack of it. In these Tigers cases, it is non existent) So you have, unhealthy, weak, defeated, abused, unenriched, lacking exercise who cant see properly Tigers being dragged around day after day for their life. And then one day in the Tigers food preparation area I found the leaf of the Kratom tree, a category 5 narcotic, illegal but a native tree to Thailand…… Was this what caused this effect on the Tigers? Or was it purely the abuse in every way of the Tigers…. There will only be one way to find out, thorough drug testing outside of Thailand. Sybelle

Sybelle Foxcroft (Cee4life) with SBS Dateline - Tigers, Thailand

Sybelle Foxcroft
Tigers, Thailand - Over the last week I have been in Thailand. The reason I went was to check on a few animal friends, but also I went to film a documentary with SBS. On 30th Oct 2012, 930pm (Australian Time) SBS investigative news program "Dateline" will air that documentary. It will be available online at the below link. Please tune in on TV or watch online and please share far and wide. It
very important to educate the public on travelling ethically when v

isiting animals. Watch and see, how easy it is for you to be sucked into participating in exploitation of creatures, and the truth behind how you are able to "cuddle a tiger". It is explosive and revealing and a must see education. 30th Oct 2012, 930pm. In the meantime, check out SBS Dateline News series. One of the best, if not the best, information news programs around.

The Eyes of Hernfa - A Tourist Tiger, Tiger Temple

Herfna's Eyes, 2012 - Walking into the Temple without disguise felt uneasy. I was nervous, I didnt know how they would react. The first volunteer to recognise me shot the worst look at me, I smiled at him, held onto my heart and prayed out loud but quietly " Protect me dear God, I am here for these beloved creatures and please do not let them stop me." Hernfa has been the tiger who has had his head pulled up and down for the "tourist photo tiger head in lap" for 6 long years... He has aged, as he would... I called his name, and those eyes met mine and locked on. My soul shuddered.... I saw the same sad eyes of the late Phayru... They burn through my soul. Please, share this. Anyone thinking that they "must" touch a tiger... look into this boys eyes and see his sorrow, all in the name of tourism. Save your money and help the last of the wild ones.... God bless Hernfa boy xoxo Please help Cee4life continue to educate the public on these things, and protect the wild and captive animals from human inflicted atrocities. www.cee4life.org Thankyou Sybelle

Inside the Tiger Temple

Inside the Tiger Temple - This is a photograph of the bungalow that I refer to in the book while I was an investigator inside the Temple. It didn't look like this back then, there was no path, no sign, the forest was deeper. I saw this sign, it was the 8 Precepts to live by while in the Temple. The first one "To Abstain from Taking Life". When I saw that sign, a flood of emotions went through me. The bungalow was the first place where my life changed forever, where I sobbed, hid in fear, where I ran through the forest, and where i saw the Tigers lives being taken..... To see that sign with those words at the entrance to the bungalow... I still cannot find the right words or emotions to describe it. Its like looking at a point of horror, that has no trace of that horror, and no acknowledgement of it. Sybelle.

Temple Tiger attacks Tourist

Temple Tiger attacks Tourist - The Tiger is known to have a most powerful bite force of 1000 pounds/453kg when adults. A Tiger can kill at human when they are 6+ months old. On 15th October 2012, a female tourist walked into the temple and within 10 minutes she was rushed to hospital after a young tiger attacked and bit her. She has 9 stitches and is ok. Imagine if that was your head, your child's torso.....The only reason I know is because I was there. Tourists sign and indemnity form when entering the temple, releasing them of any accountability and not getting into the newspaper. I am compiling a list of injuries, attacks, and bites on tourists in the tiger temple over the years. Im doing this for 2 reasons, for safety of humans, and to support the captive Tigers of the temples right to live in ethical and humane situations, away from people pulling their heads around and sitting on them etc. They ARE survival specialist carnivores. If you or any one you know has been bitten or attacked at Tiger Tempole, please send detailed information to sybelle@cee4life.org or donna@cee4life.org There is no magical care that can make Tigers placid, Tigers have and will continue to attack human beings that put themselves in such dubious close proximity. Please respect your life, your loved ones, and respect these tigers. Learn to look but not touch. - Sybelle

Remembering Darika

Remembering Darika - This stunningly beautiful girl had her life cut short in July 2007 when she disappeared into the wildlife trade. I look at my hands knowing they touched her in life, they shake at knowing what happened in her death... Instead of recounting her fate, I have attached one of my favourite poems to her photograph. Her gentle soul and beautiful face will be with me forever. RIP dear gentle Darika xoxo Sybelle ♥

Shocking footage of tourists 'teasing' drugged' tigers slammed by animal rights groups

Tiger Temple is a Theravada Buddhist temple in Thailand
'Stupid and cruel' ... tourists take part in 'tiger teasing' at the Tiger Temple in Thailand
http://dailyoftheday.com/tiger-teasing-extremely-stupid-or-extremely-awesome

SHOCKING video footage has emerged of tourists baiting and teasing tigers at a 'wildlife sanctuary' in Thailand which charges £12 to take part.

'Tiger teasing' draws thousands of tourists to the Tiger Temple in western Thailand but animal rights campaigners have slammed it as "stupid" and "cruel".
Visitors pay upwards of 600 Baht (£12) to dangle food on the end of a stick, while the animals - weighing up to 280kg - snarl and lunge at them.
The temple describes itself as a wildlife sanctuary, claiming the entry fee "goes to feeding the animals, and also to fund building a larger tiger sanctuary which will allow the animals to live in an almost natural environment".
But conservationists have warned the tourists are encouraging animal cruelty and risking their own lives.
People teasing the drugged tigers by dangling food on the end of sticks in Thailand
Big cat baiting ... there are an estimated 115 tigers at the centre, which bills itself a wildlife sanctuary
Sybelle Foxcroft worked undercover at the temple for a number of years, as part of an investigation for organisation Care for the Wild.
When shown the video by The Sun, she said: "This is that absolute height of stupidity.
"All the people have to think is - 150-280kg of teeth and claws coming at you...... where is the logic?"
Although she never witnessed it herself, Sybelle is convinced the animals are drugged before they are brought into contact with the public.

Tourists 'tease' tigers in shocking online video

 http://dailyoftheday.com/tiger-teasing-extremely-stupid-or-extremely-awesome

CONSERVATIONISTS have slammed the practise, which takes place at a temple in western Thailand
She added: "They showed every sign and symptom of drugging.
"The particular tigers that were in close contact with the public were given some sort of food, after which they became quite drowsy. That food was prepared only by Thai staff of the temple, and not foreigners.
"I am a wildlife biologist, and have worked with many tigers, and I deliberately went to the tigers I suspected to be drugged and examined them closely. Their eyes were dilated in broad sunlight, they were listless, tongues hanging limply, and you could basically do anything to them and they wouldn't react for about two-three hours."
People pay to tease the tigers, who snarl and lunge at them
'Drugged' ... Sybelle Foxcroft, who worked undercover at the temple, believes the cats are sedated so they don't attack tourists
Australian Sybelle, who has written a book about her time at the temple, titled Behind the Cloak of Buddha, also claimed the 115 tigers at the temple suffer severe malnutrition and spend most of the time locked away in concrete cells.
She added: "These tigers have never eaten red meat in their lives. They are fed a diet of near vegetarianism. This diet causes their bones to be bent, bowed legs, arched spines, abnormal bodies, disease etc.
"They also receive no enrichment at all, and have spent years with no sunlight.
"Add to that, a severe lack of exercise, and incorrect veterinary care and you have a whole lot of sickly tigers.
"There are now approximately 115 tigers inside the temple. Hidden underneath in cells.
"The education must get out there.
"The Tiger Temple practises severe abuse and major exploitation for money.
"There is absolutely no conservation value of these tigers."
People laughing as the tigers try and grab the food that is dangling on the end of sticks
Reckless ... but Sybelle insists people are risking their lives by baiting the 280kg animals
Sybelle also uncovered evidence to suggest the temple takes part in the illegal trade of animals.
As a result of her investigation, a coalition of 39 conservation groups including the WWF has campaigned to authorities in Thailand to take action against the Tiger Temple.
After The Sun showed him the shocking video, Phil Davies, the founder of Tiger Awareness, agreed the tigers appeared to have been drugged.
He said: "I've been told they're drugged and beaten to make them dosy and amenable to having people around them
"If they weren't drugged they wouldn't be anywhere near people.
"I've not heard of tigers attacking people at the temple, but there's always that chance. Tigers aren't pets."
Phil first learned about Tiger Temple "six or seven years" ago when he was told about the work being done there to help the animals.
Tigers are kept in cages and staff at Tiger Temple are accused of chaining them up for days
Locked away ... staff at Tiger Temple are accused of keeping the animals chained up for days on end
But the more he researched the centre, the more concerned he became about the treatment of the tigers there.
He now warns tourists visiting Thailand to steer clear of the temple.
He added: "We try to warn people off and we try to make people aware of what goes on at the temple. But people like to have their photo taken with a tiger."
Animal rights group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) insisted the temple had a long history of animal abuse.
A spokesperson said: "Tiger Temple is a notorious pit of despair.
"Animals are beaten and chained from the time they are babies; most big cats go mad from captivity. Every year, incidents of tiger maulings are reported at these tourist attractions.
"People can protect themselves and tigers by never frequenting these hellholes and donating to habitat-protection programmes instead.
A spokesperson for the Tiger Temple could not be reached for comment.

*The Original Chomnapa is no longer with us. The Picture in this photo however is Chomnapa # 3..

"These are the Tigers that Built the Temple. They Suffered, they Bled, and they Died for it. It was too late for Mek, Payak, Famai, and Chomnapa....they were lost...
Dear Brave Phayru, he died with Dignity....and Sangtewan, Saireung, and Saifa just made it through but with Ultra Abuse...but I have no doubt, they would have all gone." -Sybelle Foxcroft.

Do you Call Taking New Born Cubs From Their Mother Ethical????? They do at Tiger Temple!!!!!

WARNING - This is a graphic birth scene inside the Temple. Filmed by the Tiger Temple. When you view this, I want you turn your volume down and look further at the big picture. Think of these things - Cement cell, numerous litters, cubs to

tourism, removal of cubs from mother almost immediately. Is this ethical? Then please leave your comments under this post. One of the new breeding machines of the Temple. See the reality. - Sybelle

These Beautiful Eyes Belong To "Vayu""

This was the original Vayu. Vayu disappeared To the Wildlife Trade in June 2007. Vayu had crossed eyes more than likely of a result of inbreeding, however it can also be caused from drugs in the pare
nt. Most tigers in the temple suffer from eye problems. All are known to have a lack of taurine in their diet. If Big Cats do not receive sufficient amounts of the amino acid- taurine, in their diet they will loose their vision and have a short life-span. The lack of taurine, leads to vision problems (central retinal degeneration), heart failure (acute cardiomyopathy), immune system dysfunction and blood clotting disorders.

Smuggling a Tiger, THAILAND

Smuggling a Tiger, THAILAND – This is what it looks like to find a smuggled baby Tiger…..In 2010 this baby tiger was found stuffed inside a suitcase, drugged, and is mouth gagged to keep it quiet. He was rescued and rushed to Thailands National Parks Conservation Centre. He was weak, dehydrated and could not walk. The FALSE ILLEGAL market drives people to do anything because of the money. If you know of ANYONE who you suspect to be dealing in the wildlife trade, please report it to authorities, police and you can also report it to Cee4life and we will act. www.cee4life.org
